The Schimmering
An overview -
Those who know me, understand that I am hopeless and lax when it comes to marketing my books. So, please forgive me interrupting your day with this utterly random post to promote my latest fanatsy novel.
Genre: Fantasy (Low Fantasy Espionage)
In a world where magic has faded into myth, three operatives—a cynical soldier, a charming acrobat, and a cunning forger—are recruited by the Crown's spymaster. Their missions soon plunge them into a shadow war between two ancient, magical factions. As loyalties are tested and a forgotten power awakens, they must navigate a web of betrayal and conspiracy where the line between ally and enemy blurs, threatening to shatter their world and themselves.
Setting
The story is set in a world reminiscent of early modern Europe, primarily in the kingdom of Isklanden and the neighboring provinces of Denèul and Mercorium. The society is built on trade, guilds, and a monarchy, with bustling port cities like Southnesse and Herdhove serving as key locations. Magic, once prevalent, has become a thing of myth and forbidden arts, its remnants hidden from the general populace.
Readers
Most likely to appeal to an adult demographic (25-45) that appreciates complex, character-driven fantasy. The ideal reader is someone who has graduated from YA fantasy and seeks more morally ambiguous themes and intricate plots, similar to the readership of authors like Joe Abercrombie, Scott Lynch, or Leigh Bardugo. They are likely well-read, and enjoy genres that blend fantasy with elements of mystery, espionage, and historical fiction, and an interest in immersive world-building, sharp dialogue, and stories that challenge traditional fantasy tropes.

I'm delighted to have my (almost) unique signed copy. You should be delighted too that you have another novel out there making its way in the world. Good luck!
Edit: Fanatsy!? That would be fantasy novel, not fanatsy🙄
